For the third year in a row, Roper Toxicology Consulting Limited is proud to sponsor #TreeTimeEdinburgh, part of the Edinburgh & Lothians Greenspace Trust, elgt.org.uk.
Our tree-planting journey started with 50 oak saplings in year one. Last year, we planted six trees along one side of a track at Burleigh Park in Loanhead, Midlothian—the small town I've called home for 28 years.
This year, we added a second row, creating a natural avenue that leads into the trees surrounding the former Burleigh coal mine. It may have been just above freezing, but with bright sunshine, clear blue skies, and a few hours of digging, lining up, and hammering protective wire nets into place, we kept warm with the work—and the satisfaction of making a difference.
We plan to complete the pathway over the next year or two, bringing even more greenery back to the town.
